The zeros of a function are the x-intercepts. They are found where y=0 on the x-axis. This is where the function crosses the x-axis. They are written as (x,y). Here the zeros in #1 are (-4,0) and (0,0).
The axis of symmetry is the line that divides the parabola in half for a perfect reflection. It is written as x=a. Here it is x=-2. A quadratic has a max or min. This is either the highest or lowest value of the function. Here it is a max at (-2,4). The max or min is also the vertex.
