The most famous of all the evidences that Darwin used to support his theory of evolution was of the Darwin's finches of the Galapagos islands off the shore of the mainland of Equador. He found that the physical traits like the beak size, body weight, and number of eggs laid, etc. depended on the type of food they ate and the environment of the islands. This observation paved way for establishing the process of natural selection in evolution.

Which kingdom(s) include organisms that are autotrophic or heterotrophic?
3241004551 [841]

Answer : The correct answer is -

D.Protista and Eubacteria.

Autotrophs are the organisms that can synthesise their own food using substances available in their surroundings with the help of either chemical energy (chemosynthesis) or light energy (photosynthesis).

Heterotrophs on the other hand, can not synthesise their own food and depend on either plants or animals.

Out of the given options, Protista and Eubacteria conatin autotrophs or heterotrophs.

Example- Protozoa (animal-like protists) are heterotrophs that ingest or absorb their food and helps.

Algae, which is a protist and obtains nutrition through photosythesis.

Slime moulds, which are fungus-like protists and are heterotrophic.

Cyanobacteria (also called blue green alage) is a photosynthetic bacteria (belongs to Eubacteria).

Yeast cells are recovered from a fermentation broth by using a tubular centrifuge. Sixty percent of the cells are recovered at a
Serga [27]

Answer:

\\ \omega = 5033.22 \ rpm

Explanation:

Given that:

R_1 = 0.6\\\\R_2 = 0.95\\\\\omega_1 = 4000 \ rpm\\\\\omega_2 = ???\\\\Q_1 = 12\ l/min\\\\Q_2 =  12\ l/min

For a continuous centrifuge ; solid recovery R ∝ \frac{\omega^2}{Q}

where;

ω = angular velocity of the centrifuge in rpm

Q = flow rate

SO;

R_1 \alpha \frac{4000^2}{12}

R_2 \alpha  \frac{\omega^2}{12}

\frac{R_1}{R_2} = \frac{4000^2}{12}  ÷  \frac{\omega^2 }{12}

\frac{R_1}{R_2} = \frac{4000^2}{12} * \frac{12}{\omega^2}

\frac{R_1}{R_2} = \frac{4000^2}{\omega^2}\\\\\frac{0.6}{0.95} = \frac{4000^2}{\omega^2}

{\omega^2} = \frac{4000^2*0.95}{0.6}\\\\\\{\omega} = \sqrt{ \frac{4000^2*0.95}{0.6}}\\\\\\ \omega = 5033.22 \ rpm
