Let Sarah's present age =x

Let Vika's present age =y

Sarah's age exceeds Vika’s age by 16 years.

x=y+16..............(1)

Four years ago,

Sarah's present age =x-4

Vika's present age =y-4

Four years ago, Sarah was twice as old as Vika was then.

(x-4) =2(y-4).............(2)

Plugging the value of x from equation (1) in (2)

(y+16-4) =2(y-4)

(y+12) =2(y-4)

(y+12) =2y-8

y=20

x=y+16 =20+16 = 36

Answer:

Sarah's present age =36

Vika's present age =16

Answer:

x=\frac{26}{5}

Step-by-step explanation:

\frac{10x+4}{7}=8

<u>Multiply both sides by 7:</u>

\longmapsto \frac{7\left(10x+4\right)}{7}=8\times \:7

\longmapsto 10x+4=56

<u>Subtract 4 from both sides:</u>

\longmapsto 10x+4-4=56-4

\longmapsto 10x=52

<u>Divide both sides by 10:</u>

\longmapsto \frac{10x}{10}=\frac{52}{10}

\longmapsto x=\frac{26}{5}

Math help what is the answer will give brainliest.
artcher [175]
The two equations are
x + y = 7
and
4x + 2.5y = 22
the first equation can be solved for x to be
x = 7 - y
next you can substitute x in the second equation
4(7 - y) + 2.5y = 22
Distribute 4 to everything in the parentheses
28 - 4y + 2.5y = 22
combine like terms:
28 - 1.5y = 22
subtract 28 from both sides of the equation
- 1.5y =  - 6
divide both sides by -1.5
y =  4
plug this in to the original equation of x+y=7
x + 4 = 7
subtract 4 from both sides.
x = 3

professor190 [17]

Answer:

H' = (4, -2)

Step-by-step explanation:

Translating point H three units up and one unit right places it at (4, 2).

Then after a reflection across the x-axis, the y value is reversed, and the point is placed at (4, -2)
