1. Transportation of  nutrients, waste products and gases in the body

Cardiovascular system acts like an internal road network and hence is responsible for transporting substance across the different parts of the body.  

2. Essential for maintaining the body temperature

Cardiovascular system is involved in thermoregulation and whenever there is deviation from normal temperature range, the hypothalamus, sweat glands, smooth muscles, skeletal muscle, endocrine glands etc. functions to adjust it.  

3. Protect body from infection and also check for blood loss.  

It circulated blood that has red blood cell, white blood cells and platelets. White blood cells protect our body from infection while platelets control the blood loss from injuries or cuts.
