The two equivalent expressions by factoring out two different greatest common factors are 6(x - 3y + 6) and 3(2x - 6y + 12)

<em><u>Solution:</u></em>

Given that, we have to write two equivalent expressions by factoring out two different greatest common factors

Given expression is:

6x - 18y + 36

<em><u>First find the factors of 6, 18 and 36</u></em>

The factors of 6 are: 1, 2, 3, 6

The factors of 18 are: 1, 2, 3, 6, 9, 18

The factors of 36 are: 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 9, 12, 18, 36

Then the greatest common factor is 6

<em><u>Factor out 6 from given expression</u></em>

6x - 18y + 36 = 6(x - 3y + 6)

Thus one of equivalent expression is 6(x - 3y + 6)

Second greatest common factor is 3

<em><u>Factor out 3 from given expression</u></em>

6x - 18y + 36 = 3(2x - 6y + 12)

Thus another equivalent expression is 3(2x - 6y + 12)

Kendra has a painting canvas that is 20 inches wide by 37 inches high. She painted a red rose, which covered 50% of the canvas.
uysha [10]
The total area is:
 A = (20) * (37)
 A = 740 in ^ 2
 We can make the following rule of three:
 740in ^ 2 -----> 100%
 x --------------> 50%
 Clearing x we have:
 x = (50/100) * (740)
 x = 370 in ^ 2
 Answer:

the area of the canvas which was covered by the red rose was:

x = 370 in ^ 2

Using coupons, you spend $120 grocery shopping. This is 80% of the total retail price of the groceries. How much would you spend
mr Goodwill [35]

Answer: The correct answer is $150.

Step-by-step explanation: If you did not use the coupons while shopping you would have spent $150. The method to calculate this is to divide the amount that you paid by the percentage that you paid.

The formula that you need to use is $120/.8 = $150.

For 1983 through 1989, the per capita consumption of chicken in the u.S. Increased at a rate that was approximately linear. In 1
Volgvan

We have been given that in 1983, the per capita consumption was 39.7 pounds, and in 1989 it was 47 pounds.

Let us assume t=0 corresponds to year 1980.

Hence, we can express the given information as ordered pairs as (3,39.7) and (9,47).

We can to find a linear function passing through these points. Let us first find slope of the linear function:

m=\frac{y_{2}-y_{1} }{t_{2}-t_{1}} =\frac{47-39.7}{9-3} =\frac{7.3}{6} =\frac{73}{60}

We can write the required linear function as:

y-39.7=\frac{73}{60}(t-3)

Upon simplifying  this, we get:

y=\frac{73}{60}t+\frac{721}{20}

In order to find per capita consumption in 1995, we need to substitute t=15 in this function.

y=\frac{73}{60}(15)+\frac{721}{20}=54.3

Therefore, we would expect the per capita consumption of chicken in 1995 to be 54.3.
