(8-3i)-(8-3i)(8+8i)=(8-3i)[1-(8+8i)]\\\\=(8-3i)(1-8-8i)=(8-3i)(-7-8i)\\\\=(8)(-7)+(8)(-8i)-(3i)(-7)-(3i)(-8i)\\\\=-56-64i+21i+24i^2=-56-43i+24(-1)\\\\=-56-43i-24=-80-43i\\\\\\i=\sqrt{-1}\to i^2=-1

Follow PEMDAS. First is multiplication.

Follow the FOIL method: (First, Outside, Inside, Last)
<span>(8 - 3i) - (8 - 3i)(8 + 8i)
</span>8(8) = 64
8(8i) = 64i
-3i(8) = -24i
-3i(8i) = 24   (note: two "i"'s = -1)

Combine like terms

64 + 64i - 24i + 24

64 + 40i + 24

88 + 40i

Now subtract 88 + 40i from 8 - 3i

(8 - 3i) - (88 + 40i) = -80 - 43i (Note: the signs in the parenthesis change,                                                          because you are subtracting as a whole)

-80 - 43i is your answer

hope this helps

What happens as the triangle goes from obtuse to acute
jeka57 [31]

Answer:  the degree will go down 90 degrees

Step-by-step explanation: An obtuse triangle is one that has an angle greater than 90°. An acute triangle is defined as a triangle in which all of the angles are less than 90°.

Jan has a budget of $600 for catering. The catering company charges $12.50 per guest. Enter and solve an inequality to show the
pantera1 [17]

Answer:

g ≤ 48

Step-by-step explanation:

Let g = # of guest

12.50(g) ≤ 600

\frac{12.50g}{12.50} \leq \frac{600}{12.50}

g ≤ 48

which expressions represents a 20% discount off the price of an item that originally cost D dollars
Charra [1.4K]

Answer:

D - (D/5)

Step-by-step explanation:

Let's imagine that D equals 100 dollars -

Well, we know that to get 20% of an amount, we need to divide the amount by five. So let's do that -

100 / 5 = 20

We now know that 20% of 100 dollars is equal to 20 dollars. We have now finished the first part. On to the second part.

We now need to take away 20% of 100 dollars off of 100 dollars - this is the price of the item after the discount.

100 - 20 = 80 dollars.

We now fit in D instead of 100 dollars -

D - (D/5)

Samantha drew Triangle JKL with the coordinates (2,3), (4, 3) and (5,2). She reflected this image over the x-axis to create an i
zavuch27 [327]

Answer:

J'(2,-3), K'(4, -3) and L'(5,-2)

Step-by-step explanation:

The given triangle has vertices at  J(2,3), K(4, 3) and L(5,2).

The transformation rule for a reflection in the x-axis is:

(x,y)\to (x,-y)

We substitute the points to obtain the coordinates  of the image triangle  J'K'L'

J(2,3)\to J'(2,-3)

K(4,3)\to K'(4,-3)

L(5,2)\to L'(5,-2)

In other words, we negate the y-coordinates of triangle JKL to obtain the coordinates of J'K'L'

See attachment for graph.
