Hello, I am papaguy Your answer is ready!

Answer: A rational number is any number that can be expressed as a whole number, a fraction, or as a non repeating decimal. Otherwise, it is an irrational number.

19/5: it is a rational number because it is in fraction form

√12: this is an irrational number

√49: this is a rational number because when you simplify this you will get the answer 7, that is a whole number.

0.3425563758:  This is a decimal, hence, this is rational.

4/25 :  it is a fraction so it is a rational number.

√1/8: this is an irrational number

√0.6¯: this is an <u>irrational number</u>

√12   irrational  = 2 sqrt (3)

19/5    irrational  cannot be simplified

√49   rational   = 7

0.3425563758    if this is the last number rational  if this continues  irrational

√4/25   rational   2/5

√1/8    irrational = 1/(2sqrt(2))

0.6  rational

Identify the degree of the polynomial 6xy^2 - xy + 8 + 12y
Nady [450]

<u>Answer:</u>

The degree of this polynomial is 3.

<u>Step-by-step explanation:</u>

The degree of a polynomial is the highest degree of its  individual terms (also known as the monomials) which have a  non-zero coefficient.

Here in this case, we have the following polynomial:

6xy^2 - xy + 8 + 12y

Each term has degree equal to the sum of the exponents on the variables. So for a term with two variables has the highest degree: 6xy^2

1 for x and 2 for y: 1 + 2 = 3

Therefore, the degree of this polynomial is 3.

Iteru [2.4K]

Answer:

Low income group :

Mean = 22.100

Median = 22.000

Standard deviation = 4.717

High Income group :

Mean = 19.771

Median = 20.000

Standard deviation = 3.255

Step-by-step explanation:

Low income : 19,20,13,28,21,27,16,21,19, 19,34,24, 24,14,24,25,23,22,20,21,14,23,17,26,24,24,20,24,27,16,22,17,29,20,25,22,20,34,24,22

High Income : 23 19 19 18 20 18 17 25 13 24 25 17 21 19 17 22 22 15 19 23 19 23 22 20 20 20 13 21 16 13 21 24 23 21 20

Using Excel :

Mean of low income, Σx / n = 884/40 = 22.100

Median of low income group : 1/2(n+1)th term = Median of low income = 22.000

Standard deviation of low income group :

√(Σ(x - mean)²/n) = 4.717

High Income group :

Mean of high income, Σx / n = 692/35 = 19.771

Median of high income group : 1/2(n+1)th term = Median of high income = 20.000

Standard deviation of low income group :

√(Σ(x - mean)²/n) = 3.255

A population has mean 187 and standard deviation 32. If a random sample of 64 observations is selected at random from this popul
Zina [86]

Answer:

11.51% probability that the sample average will be less than 182

Step-by-step explanation:

To solve this question, we have to understand the normal probability distribution and the central limit theorem.

Normal probability distribution:

Problems of normally distributed samples are solved using the z-score formula.

In a set with mean \mu and standard deviation \sigma, the zscore of a measure X is given by:

Z = \frac{X - \mu}{\sigma}

The Z-score measures how many standard deviations the measure is from the mean. After finding the Z-score, we look at the z-score table and find the p-value associated with this z-score. This p-value is the probability that the value of the measure is smaller than X, that is, the percentile of X. Subtracting 1 by the pvalue, we get the probability that the value of the measure is greater than X.

Central Limit theorem:

The Central Limit Theorem estabilishes that, for a random variable X, with mean \mu and standard deviation \sigma, a large sample size can be approximated to a normal distribution with mean \mu and standard deviation s = \frac{\sigma}{\sqrt{n}}

In this problem, we have that:

\mu = 187, \sigma = 32, n = 64, s = \frac{32}{\sqrt{64}} = 4

What is the probability that the sample average will be less than 182

This is the pvalue of Z when X = 182. So

Z = \frac{X - \mu}{\sigma}

By the Central Limit Theorem

Z = \frac{X - \mu}{s}

Z = \frac{182 - 187}{4}

Z = -1.2

Z = -1.2 has a pvalue of 0.1151

11.51% probability that the sample average will be less than 182
