Secant = hypotenuse / adjacent
sine = opposite / hypotenuse
cotangent = adjacent / opposite

So, if we multiply all three we have a numerator of
hypotenuse * opposite * adjacent and a denominator of
adjacent * hypotenuse * opposite

Notice that "hypotenuse", "opposite", and "adjacent" appear exactly once in the numerator AND the denominator.

When numerator = denominator, then a fraction equals ONE.

How can I find the area of a rectangle with a rectangle the size of w- 2in and l- 5 in. I need two ways and i need a lot of easy
Anvisha [2.4K]
Here's one way: A=WxL So in this case, it's 2x5 You would draw the rectangle, label one side 2 in. and the other 5 in. Draw an arrow from each no./side and put x underneath the line so that its 2 —x— 5 (2, line, x, line, 5. With x under line)

a truck rental company charges $19.95 to rent a truck plus $0.24 per mile driven. Find the cost to rent a truck and drive 188 mi
zubka84 [21]

Answer:

$65.07

Step-by-step explanation:

We know in this problem they charge a $19.95 fee plus the total number of miles.

0.24 times 188 = 42.12 that´s only for the miles then the rental fee

42.12 + 19.95= 65.07

Does anyone know the answer for the question below.
8090 [49]

Answer: option C

Step-by-step explanation:

The diagram of the triangle is shown in the attached photo. The triangle is a right angle triangle ABC

Assuming the given angle is #,

Recalling the trigonometric ratio,

tan # = opposite / adjacent

If tan # = 4, it means

opposite / adjacent = 4/1

Therefore, opposite = 4 and adjacent = 1

Applying Pythagoras theorem,

Hypotenuse^2 = opposite ^2 + adjacent ^2

Hypotenuse = AC

Opposite = 4

Adjacent = 1

AC^2 = 4^2 + 1^2 = 17

AC = ± √17

To determine cos #, we would apply another trigonometric ratio,

Cos# = adjacent /hypotenuse

Cos# = 1/±√17

Cos # =-1 /√17 or 1/√17
