The word "commutative" comes from "commute" or "move around", so the Commutative Property is the one that refers to moving stuff around. For addition, the rule is "a+b=b+a"; in numbers, this means 2+3=3+2. For multiplication, the rule is "ab=ba"; in numbers, this means 2x3=3x2.

The commutative property of addition means that when you see a problem, you change the order. The co in commutative means change order. That's what my teacher told me.

Jeffrey's recipe for oatmeal muffins calls for 2 3/4
zaharov [31]
I would easily recommend to convert these to decimals. If you don't know how you should search it up or ask a teacher/friend. Convert 2 3/4 to .75, and then 2 1/2 is 2.50. Add 2.75 twice because he is making 2 dozen each (and a half) equals 11. Then multiply the 2.75 by .50 (6 muffins). That is 1.375. Add 11 and 1.375 equals 12.375. I'm not 100 percent sure this is correct but I hope it helps. :)

Natali5045456 [20]

Given Parameters

height 12 ft

base diameter 8ft Therefore, the radius r =4ft

use the value 3.14 for pie

The formula

\begin{gathered} \text{The volume of a cone =}\frac{1}{3}\pi r^2h \\  \\ \text{Substitute the given parameters into the formula} \\  \\ \text{The volume of a cone =}\frac{1}{3}\times3.14\times4^2\times12 \\  \\ \text{The volume of a cone =}\frac{1}{3}\times3.14\times16^{}\times12 \\ \text{The volume of a cone =}3.14\times16^{}\times4 \\ \text{The volume of a cone =}3.14\times64 \\  \\ \text{The volume of a cone =200.96 ft}^3 \end{gathered}

The final answer

\text{The volume of a cone =200.96 ft}^3
