10. She (not / ride) had not ridden a horse before that day

Explanation:

The tense that we have to use to fill the blanks is past perfect simple. We use this tense when we want to talk about an action that took place before another event in the past. Usually, the other situation is in the past simple.

The structure of the past perfect is: the subject (he, she, it, we, you, they, you, I) followed by the auxiliary had and the verb in the past participle.

For example, in the sentence, John knew the town because he had visited it in the past. Knew, is the past simple of know while had visited, is the part of the sentence that is in past perfect simple, and we can see that is referring to an event in the past (knew the city) because of the action that he made previously to that (had visited it in the past).

In a short essay response of at least seventy-five words, explain what it means to analyze a piece of fiction. Your answer shoul
Aloiza [94]
When you analyze a piece of fiction you pick out specific pieces that have meaning or you can find the meaning to. Analyzing will consist of highlighting and marking in the margin. When you analyze you should also write down words you do not understand so you can look them up later. You should keep note of the character and places the author creates, especially if it is made up. When you do this it is easier to track the story line. Analyzing is overall very important to keep you mind in the right place while reading a fictional story.

Character motivation is the reason behind the way a character thinks, feels and acts in a specific situation. In writing a story, it is very important that the author shows or explains the causes of the characters behaviors and attitudes. The backgrounds and trauma experienced by the character are the motivating factors of the characters actions in the story. Am I right or wrong? please help
lana [24]

The correct answer is diagram B or second diagram

Explanation:

When diagramming a sentence the two elements that go in the horizontal line are the subject (agent of the action), and the predicate including the verb. Moreover, other elements such as articles, modifiers, etc. derive from the main horizontal line.

In the sentence "The neighbor's dog howled loudly" the subject is the dog, and the verb is howled. In this context, these two words should be placed in the horizontal line, which only occurs in diagram B or the second diagram. Moreover, other words such as "the" (article) or "loudly" (adverb) should derive from the horizontal line; this was also included in diagram B. This means you are correct.
