Answer: He found that relying on nature was ineffective because not only were lightning strikes lighting fires relatively rare, they were inconsistent. Although the fires were watched very carefully because do early humans fire was very valuable, inevitably, as he wrote, they would be blown out, due to wind, rain, and various other factors. This could be extremely dangerous for early humans because not only did they use fire for food they use it for warmth and to ward away predators. So he understands that relying on nature is reckless and can lead to deadly consequences.

Hope this helps!

iogann1982 [59]

Answer: Alliteration

Alliteration refers to the repetition of the same initial consonant sounds within a group of words. Alliteration is commonly used in order to cause an emotional effect or to increase the persuasiveness of a text. Alliteration is also known as "head rhyme." In this case, the alliteration occurs in the words "swivel" and "still," which both have the same initial consonant sound.

Is it true a regular verb ends with -ed, -d, or -t to the present part
lilavasa [31]

No, this is false because an example of a present tense verb would be jump or turn. Past tense would be jumped or turned. So, this statement is not true because -ed, -d, and -t would be past not present part.

Shall we gather strength by irresolution and inaction? Shall we acquire the means of effectual resistance by lying supinely on o
Jlenok [28]

Answer:

marked by or showing lethargy, passivity, or blameworthy indifference

Explanation:

Supine means, among other things, 'exhibiting passivity'; therefore, 'lying supinely' would be correctly defined as 'showing lethargy, passivity, or blameworthy indifference'.

The supporting evidence in the text:

The phrase lying supinely on our backs is linked by the coordinating conjunction and, (which is used to join equal ideas), to the following: hugging the delusive phantom of hope, until our enemies shall have bound us hand and foot. It definitely suggests passivity and indifference.
