Why did labor market in the tobacco- producing colonies switch from white indentured servant dependent to black slave dependent?
Colt1911 [192]

Answer:

It switched because indentured servants weren't permanent, and it was unlawful for indentured servants to reproduce under contract. Indentured servants were also deemed to be free after a certain amount of work. African american slaves had families and were allowed to marry and reproduce among each other because they didn't have equal rights.
