The correct answer is B.

There are two types of sex chromosomes, the X and the Y.

Males have the XY combination and females have the XX combination of sex chromosomes.

When a condition is X liked recessive it means that in order for the disease to be present, he individual has to have ALL of the X chromosomes with the recessive allele. In females, that means that the diseased individual will have recessive alleles on both of the X chromosomes. In males, it means that the one and only X chromosome has the recessive allele.

From this information, it is evident that is harder for female to develop the disease, since two recessive alleles are necessary. On the other hand, only one recessive alleles will cause the disease in males.

What is the order of cellular respiration reactions quizlet?.
Grace [21]

the citric acid cycle, the electron transport chain, and glycolysis are the 3 steps of respiration.

A glucose molecule gradually decomposes into carbon dioxide and water during cellular respiration.  But far more ATP is later created through a procedure known as oxidative phosphorylation.  A gradient is created as protons are pumped out of the matrix as electrons move down the chain, releasing energy and form ATP as they do so. Oxygen absorbs electrons and takes them at the conclusion of the electron transport chain.

Polycystic ovary syndrome is an endocrine disorder and a common cause of chronic anovulation. In addition to the clinical manife
Scilla [17]

Answer:

1. Insulin resistance and diabetes

2. Metformin

Explanation:

Metformin can be used to treat polycystic ovary syndrome, especially for insulin-resistant women (insulin is a hormone that transports sugar into cells).

People with insulin resistance have high levels of this hormone in their blood and excess circulating insulin can aggravate manifestations of polycystic ovary syndrome, and also increase the risk of diabetes.

The main benefits of metformin in the treatment of polycystic ovaries is the normalization of menstrual irregularity and the restoration of ovulatory cycles.

Since most women with polycystic ovary syndrome are insulin resistant, metformin is a good treatment option in some cases.

However, the treatment of polycystic ovary syndrome should be individualized for each woman, depending on the symptoms presented and the goal to be achieved with the treatment.
