Andrej [43]
It felt like everything turned into slow motion after I tried to reach for that darn balloon. I remember I was having a good time listing to music drinking my Sprite that my mother gave me during our picnic outside today around 3:00 pm. Later on all of the sudden I start feeling nothing in my left arm. The ballon goes flying and I try to chase it and try
catching it when all of the sudden I feel my world is becoming slower in my eyes and my eyesight starts to get dark and that’s when I hit the floor straight to the puddle where I once felt the water drops on my feet.

Write a short composition comparing or contrasting two things. Your introduction should be one paragraph, your body should be ap
mina [271]

Movies and books have similarities and differences; but it seems that the differences outweigh the similarities. Both can be used to express fiction; entertain; and be enjoyed by young and old alike. However, books and movies differ in the use of imagination; duration or length of time; audience; and interpretation.

Fiction can be told through books and movies. In fact, a number of movies are adaptations of the novel or book form. Maze Runners and Harry Potter are examples of books turned into movies. Secondly, both are forms of entertainment. Reading fiction or watching a movie entertain us and make us relax. Finally, both can be enjoyed by the young and the old. There is no age limit to being able to get access to books and movies especially now that we have the Internet.

On the other hand, in matters of the use of imagination, the printed form can be limitless. Since movies are visually presented, the audience becomes a passive spectator of the series of events and characters presented to him. Secondly, books take time to finish depending on the age and reading speed of the readers. In contrast, movies can be done in an hour or two. There are even Indie (independent) films that are less than an hour in length. Thirdly, books can only be enjoyed by a single person; while movies can be shared with friends and loved ones at home or in the cinemas which can be more fun. Finally, in matters of interpretation, the printed form can have more details that the interpretation could be different depending on the reader’s age, experience and culture. However, movies are often interpreted by the director or producers and have to suit certain conditions such as budget, target audience, and censorship.

Overall, despite the differences, books and movies have undeniably been great companions of human experience, where a person can escape into some place and time that he can control. Whether the story has a tragic or happy ending, it is still worth our time and experience.

Personally, I prefer good movies spent on Friday nights with my friends. Nothing can beat the relaxing time spent sharing popcorn and soda.

Write an example of a framed narrative describing your understanding of the medieval period. Your answer should be at least one
pantera1 [17]

Answer:

Explanation:

A set point in the historical time line stands as the medieval period. The medieval period in history was the era in European history – from around the 5th to the 15th century, coming after the fall of the Western Roman Empire, and preceding the start of the early modern era. This historical time period has been long since been the victim of film directors and romantic novelists, which has lead to the common, but false, idea of the medieval period consisting of knights and damsels in distress, wizards and dragons, and castles and battles. Although mainly wrong in most parts and being highly historically inaccurate – some aspects of the dramatic works do play true to the original time period.

Certainly within British/English history we…show more content…

Another relevant role of the medieval period was the development of parliament later in the period. It is of high relevance to society today – as the controlling force of the country arose from the proposed council of 25 (Magna Carta) and developed into the fully fledged House of Commons and Lords that we know today. Magna Carta also played other, hugely influential roles in the world as we know. The first written constitution is very important in America – with the declaration of independence, signed in ... - being based on this very document. However, the Magna Carta was not always this important, as it was annulled by Pope Urban shortly after King John signed it.
