The Mariana Trench is the deepest part in the world's oceans. It is located in the Pacific Ocean and has a depth of -36,069'. It form the boundary between two tectonic plates, the Pacific Plate, and the Mariana Plate. The western edge of the Pacific Plate is subducted under the Mariana plate. The movement of these two plates is indirectly responsible for the formation of the Mariana islands, volcanic islands caused by flux melting.

Hypothesize how global warming might affect the polar ice caps and salinity of ocean water
julsineya [31]
The increase of the Earth’s mean temperature will cause the polar caps to begin to melt as the Earth is getting hotter. The melting of the polar ice caps could then affect the salinity of ocean as the ice caps are not saline: therefore, as they melt and fall into the ocean, they decrease the ocean’s salinity.
