In what ways are the authors’ choices and depictions related to the subject matter of their stories?

No Gumption is about a boy who has to deliver newspapers for money to help his family. Barrio Boy is about how an immigrant moves to the U.S. in during the revolutionary war and he needs to learn English. His family was very poor.
