Answer:

These are some key factors for the rise of Spain to a status of global superpower in the 16th and 17th century:

- The expelling of the last remnants of Arabic domination and the final reunification of the whole territories of Spanish Christian kingdoms under the rule of a strong crown, the crown of Castille and Aragon, occurred in 1492. A  modern Spanish kingdom was born then. King Fernando de Aragón and queen Isabela de Castilla financed the expedition of Columbus the same year and his next voyages.

-  The coming of Columbus to the American continent and the following conquest expeditions. Gold, silver in great amounts are found and taken by the expeditions of Hernán Cortés to the Aztec Empire and of Francisco Pizarro to the Peru of the Incas, and by others. Spain gained access to enormous, unimaginable wealth not suspected before. This allows the crown to spend at home, to fight wars throughout Europe and keep a powerful army and a large navy; Spain was the most powerful European nation of the 16th century.

- Spain became an overstretched empire. It lost many wars, having to pay reparations and indemnizations, as well as debts with private bankers, all of which turned to be the final destination of American riches.

-  "Drunk" with the easy flow of wealth from the colonies, the Spanish economy gradually lost dynamism, lacking innovation. A faltering economy in the 17th century, overstretching and lost wars sealed the progressive decline of the Spanish power.

Write a paragraph explaining why it has been so difficult to make peace between the
sergey [27]

Answer: The Israeli-Palestinian conflict is the ongoing struggle between Israelis and Palestinians that began in the early 20th century. The conflict is wide-ranging, and the term is also used in reference to the earlier phases of the same conflict, between the Zionist yishuv and the Arab population living in Palestine under Ottoman and then British rule. It forms part of the wider Arab-Israeli conflict. The remaining key issues are: mutual recognition, borders, security, water rights, control of Jerusalem, Israeli settlements, Palestinian freedom of movement and finding a resolution to the refugee question. The violence resulting from the conflict has prompted international actions, as well as other security and human rights concerns, both within and between both sides, and internationally. In addition, the violence has curbed expansion of tourism in the region, which is full of historic and religious sites that are of interest to many people around the world.

Why did harry Truman contribute to World War II?
Aleks [24]

Because he wanted to end war as fast as possible

Explanation:

  • Truman was vice president for only 82 days before President Roosevelt died.
  • He had very little significant discussions on world affairs and domestic politics after taking the oath of office for Roosevelt's vice president and was completely unaware of major initiatives to continue the successful war - most notably the secret project Manhattan, which at the time of Roosevelt's death, was on the highlight of testing the first atomic bomb.
  • Truman was soon briefed on the Manhattan Project and approved the use of nuclear weapons against Japan in August 1945 after the Potsdam Declaration was rejected by the Japanese Empire.
  • The atomic bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki remained to this day the first, but also the only, use of nuclear weapons for war purposes. The bombing was followed by the rapid capitulation of Japan on September 2, 1945, and the end of World War II. The use of nuclear weapons was not controversial at the time, both in the US and among its allies.
  • At the Potsdam Conference, Joseph Stalin advised Truman to use the atomic bomb as soon as possible. In the years following the bombing, Truman's decision became extremely controversial, and it was said why he decided to do so.
