Given the vectors u = <5,-1> and v = <1,12>, find -7u-3v. *
zepelin [54]

You multiply vectors and scalar simply by multiplying each component by that scalar:

-7u = \langle-35,7\rangle,\quad -3v=\langle -3,-36\rangle

Finally, you sum two vectors by summing the correspondent coordinates:

-7u-3v = \langle-35,7\rangle+\langle -3,-36\rangle = \langle-38,-29\rangle

The area of rectangular field is (49m2-42m+9).Find the dimensions of the field
Drupady [299]

Answer:

The dimensions are (7m-3) by (7m-3)

Step-by-step explanation:

We have the area of the rectangular field to be:

49 {m}^{2} - 42m + 9

We need to factorize this expression.

Let us rewrite to obtain:

{(7m)}^{2} - 2(7 \times 3)m + {3}^{2}

We can easily see that the expression is actually a perfect square trinomial.

This gives us:

(7m - 3)^{2}

Or

(7m - 3)(7m - 3)

A quadratic equation is shown below:
Valentin [98]
Part A)

The given equation is:

25 x^{2} +10x+1=0

The radicand or discriminant(d) of the equation will be:

d=(10)^{2}-4(25)(1) \\ \\
d=100-100 \\ \\
d=0

Since the discriminant is equal to 0, the given quadratic equation has only 1 root. In other words we can say the the given equation is a perfect square.

Part B)

The given equation is:

4 x^{2} -4x+1=0

We can solve this expression by factorization. Factors of middle term are to be made in such a way that their product equals the product of first and third term and sum is equal to the middle term i.e. product should be 4x² and sum should be -4x.
So the two such terms are -2x and -2x. Using the factors and simplifying the equation by taking common we get:

4 x^{2} -2x-2x+1=0 \\ \\
2x(2x-1)-1(2x-1)=0 \\ \\
(2x-1)(2x-1)=0 \\ \\
(2x-1) ^{2}=0 \\ \\
2x-1=0 \\ \\
x= \frac{1}{2}

write the condition to be satisfied by q so that a rational number p/q has a terminating decimal expansion
hjlf
For a rational number to have a terminating decimal expansion
q should be in the form 5^m and 2^n or both. If q is not in the form of either then it is a non terminating recurring decimal expansion
