These are radical equations I really need help on this I dont have the step by step down hoping someone could help :)

Mathematics
1 answer:

5 0

Step-by-step explanation:

Since you didn't actually ask a question, I'm just going to explain how to get rid of the radicals.

When it comes to radical equations like these, you can usually square both sides to get rid of the radical.

The reason this works is because the "square root" of something is the same as that something raised to the power of 1/2. And when you raise a power to a power, you multiply the two together; which reduces the 1/2 and gets rid of the root. (This is actually true for any root. If you wanted to get rid of a cube root you could cube both sides. If you had a 20th root, you could raise both sides to the power of 20.)

From here you'll either have your answer or perhaps need to continue solving. My work is in the attachment, comment with any questions.

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

7) The lengths of the tangent from an external point to a circle are equal.

      2x - 1 = x + 10

           2x = x + 10 + 1

           2x = x + 11

      2x -x  = 11

             \sf \boxed{\bf x = 11}

8) Radius : XC

    Chord: CB

   Diameter : AB

  Name of the circle: X    {a circle is named by its center}

Which of the following is not a requirement of a standard form equation Ax+By=C? a)A ≥ 0. b)B ≥ 0. c)A and B are not both 0. d)A
Ghella [55]

Answer:

The following which is not a requirement of a standard form of equation Ax+By=C is:

        b)   B ≥ 0

Step-by-step explanation:

We know that the standard equation of a line is given by:

        Ax+By=C

where A,B and C are integers and A is taken to be a non-negative integer i.e. (A≥0) also the greatest common factor of A,B and C is: 1.

Also A and B can't be both zero.

       Hence, the correct option is:

                Option: b

A village wishes to measure the quantity of water that is piped to a factory during a typical morning. A gauge on the water line
anzhelika [568]

Answer:

570 m³

Step-by-step explanation:

The volume of water is the product of flow rate of water and the time taken. We are to get the volume of water used between 6 am and 9 am, that is for 3 hours (9 - 6).

We are given the flow rate at 6 am and the flow rate at 9 am, but this flow rate changes between 6 am and 9 am. To get the estimate of the water used, Let us assume that it flows at the same flow rate as it was at 6 am throughout, hence:

V_L= 100 m^3/h * 3h=300\ m^3

Also, let us assume that it flows at the same flow rate as it was at 9 am throughout, hence:

V_R= 280 m^3/h * 3h=840\ m^3

To get the best estimate of the total volume, let us find the average of the two values, hence:

Volume=\frac{V_L+V_R}{2} =\frac{300+840}{2}=570\ m^3
