Fungi join bacteria as the primary decomposers in different ecosystems. They feed on the organic remains of dead plants. They release special enzymes that break down lignin, a structurally complex substance in wood. Decomposing organic matter is considered by ecologists as the major ecological role of fungi.

Which of the following statements regarding secretory protein translocation is NOT true? Hydropathy profiles are used to computa
miss Akunina [59]

Incorrect statement is: Type II membrane proteins have a signal sequence targeting them to the ER as well as a signal anchor sequence.

Signal peptide or signal sequence is a sequence of amino acids that gets recognized by signal recognition particle (SRP). This sequence is involved in cotranslational translocation into ER, where the protein should be folded. A stop-transfer sequence signals that translation of the protein should continue in the cytosol (not in ER). A signal anchor sequence signals the insertion of protein into the ER membrane.

-describe the 3 steps of embryonic development (cleavage division, gastrulation, organogenesis)
julsineya [31]

Answer:

Cleavage, in embryology, in the first few cell divisions of the zygote. Initially, the zygote separates into the longitudinal axis. The second division is also longitudinal but at 90 degrees on the first plane. The process produces a multicellular embryo. It is an assembling process that divides the seed into developmental regions. Zygote cytoplasm includes chemicals that control gene expression.

Gastrulation is characterized as an early embryonic phase in which the embryo is converted from a one-dimensional layer of epithelial cells to a multilayer, multidimensional structure called the gastrula.

Organogenesis is a process of embryonic development that occurs at the end of gastrulation and lasts until birth. During organogenesis, the three germ layers formed by gastrulation (ectoderm, endoderm, and mesoderm) form the internal organs.
