D makes you think that there was a second civil war. MLK was not angry with Lincoln: History had taught him that the Emancipation Proclamation was the first step. D is not true.

Of all your choices, this one could be eliminated the most quickly. The Civil Rights Movement showed that African Americans were anything but wholly satisfied. C is incorrect.

The best answer is B. Sometime when you have a moment read "I have a dream." speech delivered by King.

It wasn't slavery exactly. It was segregation mostly. A is not a good answer: it might work if B was not better.

The answer is B. Slavery ended long before that point, Martin Luther King Jr. spoke up about segregation. So A doesn’t make sense. C doesn’t make sense because MLK didn’t think things were going well, he spoke up because things WERENT going well. D doesn’t make sense either.

Personification- I'm not quite sure, but, "Is this a dagger which I see before me," appears to be personification. I could be wrong.
Apostrophe- None, that I know of.
Allusion- "I have thee not, and yet I see thee still."
Hyperbole- "The handle toward my hand? Come. let me clutch thee:--"
