The UV light comes in three types <em>(UVA, UVB and UVC)</em> according their wavelengths. The sunlight carries all of these but only two <em>(UVA and UVB) </em>could penetrate the ozone layer a little bit.

The ozone layer is a thin layer of gas that absorbs most of the UV rays from the sunlight. Thus,<em> it serves as a protective shield of the Eart</em>h. Without the ozone layer, living things would have a hard time surviving on Earth.
