B) the painting demonstrates the enlightenment idea that the people have the power to take action against an unjust government.

Like the US revolution, the French revolution also started because of a unjust revolution. After France helped the US overthrow Britian rule, the French found out that they can do the same. This led to the overthrow of Louis XVI, and the later leadership of Napoleon.

1.Who are “they” that Niemöller writes about, as in, “first they came for...”?
ASHA 777 [7]

Answer:

Based on what you gave this is what I got

1. They are SS soldiers of the Nazi party

2. They (SS troops) frequently searched for hiding Jews and would either transport them to labor camps or kill them immediately

3. I assume the person saying then they came for is Jewish so he probably witnessed many of his friends and/or familiar people being taken away.

4. Some who had their identities protected did not say anything to avoid being taken or to avoid being killed.

5. There was a democratic party in Germany when Hitler took power so no not everybody was responsible because some did resist but they were probably killed. at the same time the German people loved Hitler because before he went off with his crazy ideas he did do good things for the German people like healing their weakened economy and restoring national pride.

Explanation:

This is from my knowledge of WW2, I do not know what your question's subject is so... Hope this helps. I just read about Niemoller and he is talking about the different parties in Germany as the Nazi party took out competition then they eventually attacked the Jews. He says that by the time they came for him there was no one else to speak up.
