Answer:

The probability that she will be a winner is: \frac{1}{60}

Step-by-step explanation:

Consider the provided information.

A "trifecta" is a particular horse race in which you win by picking the "win," "place," and "show" horses (the first-, second-, and third-place winners), in their proper order.

Five horses of equal ability are entered in a trifecta race

First find the sample space as shown:

We have five horses for 1st place, if out of 5 horses one horse comes first then we have 4 horses for the second place.

If out of 4 horses one horse comes second then we have 3 horses for the third place.

Therefore the number of ways are:  5\times 4\times 3=60

There are 60 ways for a horse to come first, second or third.

The actual outcome of the race will only be one of these ways.

Hence, the probability that she will be a winner is: \frac{1}{60}

inna [77]

Answer:

The average rate will be 2.40 dollars per kg.

Hence, option D is correct.

Step-by-step explanation:

From the table, it is clear that the order size is located on the x-axis and the price is located on the y-axis.

The price of 100 kg cumin = $450

The price of 600 kg cumin = $1650

so

at x₁ = 100, f(x₁) = 450

at x₂ = 600,  f(x₂) = 1650

Using the formula to determine the average rate of change at which the total cost increases will be:

Average rate = [f(x₂) - f(x₁)] / [ x₂ - x₁]

                      = [1650 - 450] / [600-100]

                      = 1200 / 500

                      = 2.4

Therefore, the average rate will be 2.40 dollars per kg.

Hence, option D is correct.
