Answer:

<u>Question 12:</u>

1.625

Terminating

<u>Question 13:</u>

.833(repeating)

<u>Question 14:</u>

9m = 900cm

<u>Question 15:</u>

2.3mm = .23cm

Step-by-step explanation:

<h2>Question 12:</h2>

We can convert the mixed number into an improper fraction

<em />

<em>Rule:</em>

<em>denominator * whole number + numerator</em>

13/8

Divide 13 over 8

13/8 = 1.625

<h2>Question 13:</h2>

Divide 5 over 6

5/6 = .833(repeating)

<h2>Question 14:</h2>

<em>There are 100 centimeters in one meter, to get to 9m in cm we'd multiply.</em>

<em />

100 * 9 = 900cm

9m = 900cm

<h2>Question 15:</h2>

<em>One mm is .1 cm, to get to 2.3mm in cm we'd divide by 10.</em>

<em />

2.3/10 = .23

2.3mm = .23cm

Explain how you can determine if 1/3 and 4/12 are equivalent fractions.
allochka39001 [22]
To determine if 1/3 and 4/12 are equivalent fractions, you can either simplify 4/12 or raise 1/3. I'm going to explain with an example. So we have 1/8 and 3/24. I usually make the denominators (The lower number of the fraction) the same. To do that i multiply 8 by which ever number i think will calculate to 24. So 8 times 3 is 24. So i would change the number 8 to the number 24. But what you do to the bottom you HAVE to do to the top. So i multiplied the number 8 by 3 to get 24. No i am going to multiply the top of 1/8 (which is 1, or the numerator) by 3. And 1 times 3 is 3. And that gives me 3/24. It equals the second fraction, so 1/8 and 3/24 is equivalent.

So taking your fractions, 1/3 and 4/12, we just see how many times 3 goes into 12. Or what times 3 equals 12. That is 4. So what we do to the bottom we MUST do to the top, right? So we multiply 1 by 4. That gives us 4. So 1/3 changed into 4/12. So our first fraction is now 4/12 and our second fraction is also 4/12. So they are equivalent! Hope this helped <span />

-2x+15y=24 2x+9y=24, what is the value of x and y
kaheart [24]
Eliminate x's by adding te 2 equations

add them

-2x+15y=24
<u>2x+9y=24 +</u>
0x+24y=48

24y=48
divide both sides by 24
y=2

sub back

2x+9y=24
2x+9(2)=24
2x+18=24
minus 18 both sides
2x=6
divide 2
x=3

x=3
y=2

I need your help again guys!
solmaris [256]

ANSWER

x = 13

EXPLANATION

Use the Pythagoras Theorem to obtain,

{x}^{2}  =  {12}^{2}  +  {5}^{2}

This implies that,

{x}^{2}  = 144 + 25

{x}^{2}  = 169

Take the positive square root of both sides to get,

x =  \sqrt{169}

x = 13
