Answer:

(Choice B) 555 homologous pairs of chromosomes comprising a total of 202020 chromatids

Explanation:

Homologous chromosome are those two chromosomes which have same gene but different in shape and appearance. Chromatids are the identical copies of chromosome. Single chromosome splits into double number of chromatids. In 555 pairs, 101010 chromosomes are present so 101010 chromosomes splits into 202020 chromatids.

Decide whether each statement describes saturated fat, unsaturated fat, or both saturated and unsaturated fats.
Darina [25.2K]

Answer:

Statement 1.) Both saturated and unsaturated fats.

Statement 2.) Saturated fat

Statement 3.) Unsaturated fat

Statement 4.) Unsaturated fat

Statement 5.) Both saturated and unsaturated fats.

Statement 6.) Saturated fat.

Explanation:

Fatty acids are straight chain carbon compounds of varying lengths. It is an important component of lipid in plant and animals. All fats are known to contain nine calories per gram, therefore can add to the weight of an individual. There are two type of fatty acids which includes:

--> Saturated fatty acids: these are fatty acids that contains no double bonds making it solid at room temperature. They are usually found in animal products such as milk, cheese and meat. They are absorbed in the villi of small intestine after digestion. One of the disadvantages of consuming diet rich in saturated fat is Saturated fats might increase LDL cholesterol levels. These are the bad cholesterol which are affected by inhibiting the LDL receptor activities leading to its increase. This can lead to heart disease conditions.

--> Unsaturated fatty acids: These are fatty acids which may contain one or more double bonds making it liquid at room temperature. They are found in plant oil (omega 6) and fish oil (omega 3). When consumed, they are absorbed in the villi of small intestine and helps maintain a good balance of cholesterol in blood.

Identify what is wrong with the following statement: "If the climate in two geographically separate regions is similar, the same
enyata [817]

Answer:

A. Biomes are not affected by climate

Explanation:

 • The climate of a biome determines its importance as the biomes are formed as a cause and consequence of the climatic factors and hence the plant growth is affected by this and depends on the climatic types hence the Koppen classification is based on the different climatic zones the relationship among the plantains.
 • An example of the Mediterranean climate i.e Cs chappal biome. Has and extremely dry summers and plants are adapted to the extreme season of the variation in the temperatures and the rainfall patterns.

Explain How does the gradient of a river affect
its flow?
djverab [1.8K]

Explanation:

The flow of the river is dependent upon the position along the stream in terms of the gradient. Near the top of a high gradient, the flow will be less than that near the bottom. Likewise, the steeper the river's gradient, the faster the flow of water (due to the pull of water down the gradient by gravity).
