What does standard deviation mean?
Sveta_85 [38]
Standard deviation is: It is a measure of how spread out numbers are. It is the square root of the Variance, and the Variance is the average of the squared differences from the Mean.

For example: To find the standard deviation, you have to add up all the numbers in the data set, then divide by how many numbers there are, and that will get you your answer.

Example,  Say your data set is: 9, 2, 5, 4, 12, 7, 8, 11, 9, 3, 7, 4, 12, 5, 4, 10, 9, 6, 9, 4.

The Mean is: 9 + 2 + 5 + 4 + 12 + 7 + 8 + 11 + 9 + 3 + 7 + 4 + 12 + 5 + 4 + 10+ 9 + 6 + 9 + 4. Over 20. That equals: 104 over 20 = 7.

So, the Standard Variance and  Mean is: 7 for this problem.

Hope I helped!

Jason begins at the start of a path and rides his bike 11 12 miles on the path. The path is 12 14 miles long. Enter the distance
nikitadnepr [17]

Answer:

Number of miles remaining for Jason to reach end of the path = 3/4 miles

Step-by-step explanation:

Total distance of the path = 12 1/4 miles

Distance reached by Jason's bike on the path = 11 1/2 miles

Enter the distance, in miles, Jason must ride to reach the end of the path.

Number of miles remaining for Jason to reach end of the path = Total distance of the path - Distance reached by Jason's bike on the path

= 12 1/4 miles - 11 1/2 miles

= 49/4 - 23/2

= (49-46) / 4

= 3/4 miles

Number of miles remaining for Jason to reach end of the path = 3/4 miles

If function f is a cubic polynomial which statement most accurately describes the function over the interview (0,1)
inysia [295]

Answer:

Option (B)

Step-by-step explanation:

From the given table,

With the increase in the values of x (from x = -2 to x = 2), values of the function is decreasing from x =2 to x = 4.

Interval (0, 1) lies in the domain of the function in which the y-values of the function are,

At x = 0,

f(0) = -6

At x = 1,

f(1) = 0

Therefore, values of the given function are increasing in the interval of (0, 1).

Option (B) will be the correct option.
