Answer:

<h2>n = 3</h2>

Step-by-step explanation:

-2(7n-6)+n=-3-8n\qquad\text{use the distributive property}\ a(b+c)=ab+ac\\\\(-2)(7n)+(-2)(-6)+n=-3-8n\\\\-14n+12+n=-3-8n\qquad\text{subtract 12 from both sides}\\\\(-14n+n)+12-12=-3-12-8n\\\\-13n=-15-8n\qquad\text{add}\ 8n\ \text{to both sides}\\\\-13n+8n=-15-8n+8n\\\\-5n=-15\qquad\text{divide both sides by (-5)}\\\\\dfrac{-5n}{-5}=\dfrac{-15}{-5}\\\\\huge\boxed{n=3}

<em>Answer and Step-by-step explanation:</em>

<em>For this equation the answer is : n=3</em>

<em>Step 1 : Simplify both the sides of the equation :</em>

<em>-2(7n-6)+n=-3-8n</em>

<em>(-2)(7n)+(-2)(-6)+n=-3+-8n   (Distribute)</em>

<em>-14n+12+n=-3+-8n</em>

<em>(-14n+n)+(12)=-8n-3   (Combine the like terms)</em>

<em>-13n+12=-8n-3</em>

<em>-13n+12=-8n-3</em>

<em>Step 2 : Add "8n" to both the sides :</em>

<em>-13n+12+8n=-8n-3+8n</em>

<em>-5n+12=-3</em>

<em>Step 3 : Subtract "12" from both the sides :</em>

<em>-5n+12-12=-3-12</em>

<em>-5n=-15</em>

<em>Step 4 : Divide both the sides by "-5"</em>

<em>\frac{-5n}{-5} =\frac{-15}{-5}</em>

<em>n=3</em>

<em />

<em>That's your final answer : n=3</em>

If 2/3 ton of gravel covers 3/4 of a driveway, how many tons of gravel are required to cover the entire driveway?
Paladinen [302]
Oh come on!! Look at this:

If 2/3 ton of gravel covers 3/4 of a driveway, you need to divide 2/3 divided by 3 to find how much is needed for 1/4 of the driveway. So first step:

1. 2/3 divided by 3 = 2/3 * 1/3. So 2/9.
2. Add 2/3 plus 2/9= 8/9 ton of gravel to cover the whole driveway.

Answer:

The slope is 1/2

Step-by-step explanation:

To find the slope you use the formula rise/run

The rise is the second y coordinate minus the first y coordinate

The run is the second x coordinate minus the first y coordinate

Step one:

Take 2 points: I used (2,1) and (4,2)

Step two:

Use the formula

2-1/4-2

The answer is the slope of the line

The slope is 1/2
