Hello there

the answer your looking for is x=2

Step 1: Simplify both sides of the equation.

−8=−7(−4x+8)+8(x−3)

−8=(−7)(−4x)+(−7)(8)+(8)(x)+(8)(−3)(Distribute)

−8=28x+−56+8x+−24

−8=(28x+8x)+(−56+−24)(Combine Like Terms)

−8=36x+−80

−8=36x−80

Step 2: Flip the equation.

36x−80=−8

Step 3: Add 80 to both sides.

36x−80+80=−8+80

36x=72

Step 4: Divide both sides by 36.

36x

36

=

72

36

x=2

thank you

First   expand the parentheses using the distributive law:-

-8 = 28x - 56 + 8x - 24

36x - 80 = -8

36x = 72

x = 2  is the answer

Find the area of the surface. the part of the surface y = 5x + z2 that lies between the planes x = 0, x = 1, z = 0, and z = 1.
Alex787 [66]

Parameterize the part of the surface we care about, denoted \mathcal S, by

\mathbf r(u,v)=\langle u,5u+v^2,v\rangle

with 0\le u\le1 and 0\le v\le1.

Then

\|\mathbf r_u\times\mathbf r_v\|=\|\langle5,-1,2v\rangle\|=\sqrt{4v^2+26}

The area is given by the surface integral

\displaystyle\iint_{\mathcal S}\mathrm dS=\int_{v=0}^{v=1}\int_{u=0}^{u=1}\|\mathbf r_u\times\mathbf r_v\|\,\mathrm du\,\mathrm dv

=\displaystyle\int_{v=0}^{v=1}\sqrt{4v^2+26}\,\mathrm dv=\sqrt{\dfrac{15}2}+\dfrac{13}2\sinh^{-1}\sqrt{\dfrac2{13}}

9.4 × 10-4 =<br><br> 0.00094<br> 0.0094<br> 94,000<br> 940,000
Alexus [3.1K]

Answer:

0.00094

Step-by-step explanation:

Scientific Notation is a shortened form of writing a number using exponents. It has the following rules:

  • Use a positive exponent for large numbers greater than 1.
  • Use a negative exponent for small numbers less than 1.
  • Always write the first number as a value between 0 and 9.

9.4 x 10^-4 has a negative exponent and will be a number smaller than 1. This means 0.00094 and 0.0094 are options. Now count from the decimal in each to the space between 9 and 4. In the first it is 4. In the second it is 3. Since the exponent is -4, this means 0.00094 is the solution.

What is the median of the data set 30 52 68 65 69 61 68 75 85 78
Lera25 [3.4K]
Median is the number in the middle when all the numbers are put in order.
Let's do that first.
30 52 61 65 68 68 69 75 78 85
Now if there's 10 numbers, 2 numbers are in the middle.
By counting in 4 on both sides, we know the two numbers are both 68, so 68 is the median.
