To be a good citizen anywhere you have to be a good person. That means showing respect, having a good attitude or just helping out. In the classroom, you have to show responsibility by doing your homework on time, or listening and following directions.
Rough Riders
The most famous of all the units fighting in Cuba, the "Rough Riders" was the name given to the First U.S. Volunteer Cavalry under the leadership of Theodore Roosevelt. Roosevelt resigned his position as Assistant Secretary of the Navy in May 1898 to join the volunteer cavalry.

The use of good guy or bad guy for a person doesn't make much sense.
I'll just list some major facts about Columbus and let you make your own conclusions.
Christopher Columbus believed the world was round. Others during his time didn't believe so. Columbus also thought that the world was smaller than what it actually is, principally because North America and South America were not yet discovered. Columbus went to many people and asked them to fund him, and finally the King and Queen of Spain funded him. When Columbus reached the Americas, he treated the natives harshly. He took their wealth, such as gold, etc, and made the natives slaves. And he brought back the riches of the Caribbean to Spain. Columbus never knew that he had stumbled across an undiscovered land, and instead thought he had reached India, where he was originally going for, and so he called the natives "Indians."

First of all, the Spanish (along with the rest of the large European countries at the time) had guns and other military technology. With the advantage of having gunpowder, the Spanish were able to relatively easily conquer the indigenous peoples in the Americas. Another point is the Spanish military training; the American civilizations had no military training that matched the strict codes of the European countries, so the precision of the Spanish helped them conquer.
