Ethos, logos, and pathos are spelled different. 
Ethos is spirit culture community.
Logos is a word of god.
Pathos evokes pity and sadness.

They all have different meanings so you could use them to make feeling for a character in a story and make the reader feel those emotions.

This is why the DNR instituted rules on the transportation of firewood from one place to another such as all the bark being removed or the firewood being USDA Compliant.
