Two different scientists were studying the carbon levels of the air above a large city. They both found that the levels had incr
ss7ja [257]

Answer:

Scientist 1

Explanation:

The conclusion of scientists 1 is valid.

Human activities such as burning of fossil fuels, agriculture, deforestation, etc. leads to the emission of carbon in the form of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere. An increase in the population of a city will only lead to an increase in these activities and hence, an increase in the amount of carbon emitted into the atmosphere.

Also, volcanic activities leads to the production of volcanic gases which is a mixture of carbon dioxide, oxides of sulfur, nitrogen, etc.

However, an active volcano that is several miles away from the city might not be a major source of carbon in the air above a large city. The carbon dioxide produced from such volcanic activity thins out before reaching the city.

Is the practice of genetically modifying human cells ethical? Why or why not?
kumpel [21]

It totally depends upon whether modification is being done in somatic cells or germ cells. Somatic cells modification is ethically accepted because it doesn't pass from one generation to another generation but germline modification is considered as unethical because the modification will pass on to the next generation leading to the persistence of modification in future generations. The problem with genetic modifications is that the impacts of modifications are unpredictable, rather than being fruitful they may lead to lethal mutations so if it occurs in just somatic cells, then even if it is lethal/harmful, it will be confined to only that individual but if a lethal mutation occurs in germ cells then it will pass on to the subsequent generations and it will persist in all future generations.

Why are dead or weakened viruses used instead of normal viruses to create a vaccine?
vodomira [7]
I think its because vaccines are just to help your body learn how to fight off the virus, it’s not to actually give you the virus. Hope this helped!
