A longitudinal wave occurs when the disturbance moves in the same direction as the wave itself. Sound is an example of a longitudinal wave. A compression is where the particles of the medium are closest together, and a rarefaction is where the particles are farthest apart.

Comets orbit in short, circular paths around the sun.
a. True
b. False
RSB [31]
The statement is b. False.
Comets do not orbit around the Sun in a short, circular paths, but they have very large and elongated, elliptical paths. Their paths are not like those of the planets where the distance between the planet and the Sun is kept in pretty much the same level (it differs throughout the year but not drastically), instead their paths make them go very close to the Sun at one point, and than go very far from the Sun at other point.

How can the effects of establishing a pesticide production plant be minimized ?
vodomira [7]

Answer:

Plowing, crop rotation, removal of infected plant material, cleaning of greenhouse and tillage equipment, and effective manure management are all cultural practices that are employed to deprive pests of a comfortable habitat or prevent their spread. Pesticides can contaminate soil, water, turf, and other vegetation. In addition to killing insects or weeds, pesticides can be toxic to a host of other organisms including birds, fish, beneficial insects, and non-target plants.
