Answer:

Please find how the population will be affected by each interaction below

Explanation:

1.) Competition: Competition is a kind of interaction which harms both of the organisms involved. It is caused when organisms of different species share the same resource in an ecosystem. Competition between species of two populations will cause BOTH POPULATIONS TO BE AFFECTED.

2.) Predation: Predation is another kind of interaction in which one organism called the PREDATOR feeds on another organism called PREY. The populations of one species will PREY on the population of the other species, hence, one population will be affected.

3) Mutualism is the interaction between organisms in which both species benefit from one another. Hence, the population of the two species are affected POSITIVELY by this interaction.

Polydactyly is a trait found in cats and humans in which a person (or cat) has 6 digits per
ad-work [718]

Answer:

1/2 or 50%

Explanation:

This question involves a single gene coding for the number of digits per paw in cats or humans. The allele for polydactyly i.e six digits (P) is dominant over the allele for normal number of digits i.e 5 (p).

According to this question, If a man who is heterozygous (Pp) for this trait marries a woman with 5 fingers (pp), the following gametes will be produced by each parent:

Pp : P and p

pp : p and p

Using these gametes in a punnet square (see attached image), the following proportion of offsprings will be produced:

Pp, Pp, pp and pp

The offsprings with genotype Pp will have polydactyl, hence, the chances that they will have a child with polydactyly is 1/2 or 50%.

What do you think the term gene expression means? How do you think the term relates to the total number of genes a human inherit
Gnesinka [82]

The process by through which the instructions that are present in a DNA is transformed into proteins is called gene expression.

The term is related to to the total number of genes that are inherited from the parents in such a way that a gene contains many information related to the building of proteins and hormones that are necessary for the human growth.

Explanation:

The term Gene expression refers to the transfer of the DNA instructions into proteins. It is the main process that helps a human body responding to the varying environment. It is the main factor that controls and regulates the amount proteins production. The steps transcription and translation is involved in the protein production process

The traits from the parents of an individual like blood group type, color of eye are passed to their children. These are passed through genes. These also passes some diseases also. A gene contains information related to the amount of hormones and proteins to be produced which is done by the gene expression.

Leno4ka [110]

Strengthening some synapses and weakening others establishes neural circuits that contain memories; the low-frequency stimulation of synaptic inputs to a cell can decrease their strength in a phenomenon known as long-term depression.

The effect of long-term depression can arise from neural effect of synapses. The synaptic impulses start to decrease gradually when a person is suffering from long-term depression. This decreased neural synapses arise from long-term exposure to stress that is chronic. It can also stem from anxiety. The continuous exposure of the neurons to stress and anxiety can also lead to degeneration and depletion of the cells present in the nervous system. Also the cortisol levels rise during depression and it is regulated by the hippocampus. This leads to a delay or restriction in the developing neurons inside the brain. Long-term depression can lead to increased chances of getting addicted to alcohol or drugs.
