Answer:

C. sqrt 39/8

Step-by-step explanation:

To solve this, we need to first draw the triangle.

cos Ф = adjacent / hypotenuse

cos A = 5/8 = adjacent / hypotenuse

From the diagram, when dealing with angle A, AB= hypotenuse = 8 and AC=adjacent =5

But when we are dealing with angle B , then BC becomes the adjacent and AC  will now be the opposite, but AB still remains the hypotenuse, which implies, if we are looking for the value of COS B , we need to find side BC, we can easily do that using the Pythagoras theorem;

adjacent² + opposite² = hypotenuse²

adjacent² =  hypotenuse² - opposite²

  BC²        = AB² -  AC²

                =8² -  5²

                = 64 - 25

              = 39

BC =√39

adjacent = √39       hypotenuse =8

cos B = adjacent / hypotenuse

cos B  = √39 / 8

Natali [406]

Answer:

  6/7 ≈ 85.7%

Step-by-step explanation:

The probability that a 0 was transmitted and received is 0.5·0.9 = 0.45.

The probability that a 1 was transmitted and a 0 received is 0.5·0.15 = 0.075.

Then the probability that a 0 was received is 0.45 +0.075 = 0.525.

The probability of interest is ...

  p(0 transmitted | 0 received) = p(0 transmitted & received)/p(0 received)

  = 0.45/0.525 = 6/7 ≈ 85.7%

First differences are 2, 4, 8, 16, which is a geometric sequence. The parent function is not linear (constant first difference) or quadratic (first difference increases by the same amount from one to the next). When the first differences are a geometric sequence, the underlying sequence is a geometric (exponential) sequence.

1st blank: exponential

Translation up adds a constant to each of the f(x) values.

2nd blank: f(x)
3rd blank: increased by 5

For the last blank, you're looking for an (x, f(x)) pair that is translated to (x, f(x)+5).

4th blank: (2, 16)

How many hours do they have to work before they go to the movies
lorasvet [3.4K]

Answer:

25 months

Step-by-step explanation:

Plan A : $70 per month

Plan B : $50 per month + $500 as a one time cost.

So for A $70 a month would take 8 months to be at least $500

And for B it in those 8 months it would cost you $900

But we have to keep going up until they are equal

25*70 = 1750

(25*50) = 1250+500=1750

So yes 25 months is correct
