Ans.

Proteins are synthesized by the genes by the process of transcription and translation. Transcription involves synthesis of mRNA molecule that contain information for amino acid sequence in the form of triplet genetic codes, from DNA. Translation involves formation of polypeptide chain according to the information present in mRNA.

During protein synthesis, a specific amino acid is coded by a specific genetic code present in gene sequence.

Thus, for mass production of a particular protein, the amino acid sequence of that protein must be known as each amino acid will show a specific codon, having three nucleotide bases and sequence of the gene will be identified to synthesize gene for that protein.

I believe that the pattern that would be expected is both 14 N and 15 N, this is because the DNA was replicated in a conservative manner. Semi conservative replication would produce two copies that each contained one of the original strands and one new strand, while Conservative replication would leave the two original template DNA strands together in a double helix and would produce a copy composed of two new strands containing all of the new DNA base pairs

Answer & Explanation: Cholera as a disease is any of the several acute infectious diseases of humans and domestic animals caused by certain strains of the Vibrio cholerae bacterium.

a) It is unlikely to spread directly from one person to another. So the risk of becoming ill through casual contact is quite low. However, for those with weakened immunity, they could possible contract the disease on contact leading to infection.

b) Signs of infection is usually marked by severe gastrointestinal symptoms such as diarrhea, abdominal cramps, nausea, vomiting and dehydration

c) Some of the different ways the disease could be spread include ingestion of contaminated water. Bacteria present in the faeces of an infected person are usually the main source of contamination.
