Well if the candle lost half of its mass, and they are asking where the other half went. Most likely it is still hardened wax because the it says that you're candle lost half of its mass that means half is gone and the other half is still there. The chemical change would be liquid, and the chemical property would be Wax Vapour that is what i found.
