That would be B.

When u have a larger population at hand the chances of your predictions being right are higher. So for example if he predicted a 3:1 ratio(yellow to green peas) he’d have a higher chance of seeing this ratio in a larger population than he would in a smaller one.

Determine whether the characteristics describe DNA replication in prokaryotes only, eukaryotes only, or both prokaryotes and euk
SVEN [57.7K]

Explanation:

DNA replication is a process common to both prokaryotes and Eukaryotes with few differences and similarities.

Differences:

1. Origin of replication (ori) : is a sequence of the genome where initiation of replication takes place. Prokaryotes have only single ori while eukaryotes have multiple ori as the DNA is large in eukaryotes so require multiple or to replicate whole DNA.

2. Replication site: prokaryotes lack nucleus where DNA is present in the cytoplasm while eukaryotes posses nucleus which encloses DNA. Therefore, replication takes place in cytoplasm in prokaryotes while in the nucleus in eukaryotes.

Similarities:

1. Enzymes: both posses same enzymes for DNA replication like DNA helicase, primase, polymerase.

2. The direction of synthesis: the enzyme DNA polymerase synthesizes new strand of DNA in the same direction that is 5' to 3' direction.

Thus, marked answer in the table are correct answer.

The dermis:
Vladimir79 [104]

Answer:

D. is responsible for most of the skin's structural strength.

Explanation:

A. contains no blood vessels.

False. The dermis contains blood vessels together embedded in it along with the sweat and sebaceous or oil glands, hair follicles, and nerve endings.

B. functions as a padding and insulation.

False. The fat layer that is located below the dermis is the one responsible for padding and insulation.

C. is divided into three distinct layers

False. The dermis is divided into only two separate layers. These are the papillary layer or the upper layer and the reticular layer or the lower layer.

D. is responsible for most of the skin's structural strength.

Yes, the dermis functions for providing the skin's structural strength because of it's thick fibrous and elastic tissue layer. This layer consists primarily of collagen and elastin that also allows for the skin's flexibility.

E. is made of epithelial tissue.

False. The dermis is made up of fibrous and elastic tissue. It is the epidermis which is composed of the epithelial tissue.

Rosa drew a flow chart of the carbon cycle. Flow chart of the carbon cycle with 4 boxes connected by arrows. Box 1: carbon dioxi
leonid [27]

Answer:

(a) X: Producers undergo photosynthesis. Y: Decomposers return carbon to the soil and release waste.

Explanation:

(a) X: Producers undergo photosynthesis. Y: Decomposers return carbon to the soil and release waste.

(b) X: Decomposers return carbon to the soil and release waste. Y: Producers undergo photosynthesis.

(c) X: Decomposers take in carbon dioxide. Y: Producers absorb carbon through their roots.

(d)X: Producers absorb carbon through their roots. Y: Decomposers take in carbon dioxide.

Box 2 (X) would be the process through which producers fix carbon dioxide to produce their own food, the carbohydrate. The process is otherwise known as photosynthesis and can be represented by the following equation:

6CO_2 + 6H_20 --> C_6H_1_2O_6 + 6O_2

Box 4 (Y) would be the process of decomposition. Both producers and consumers eventually die and decompose in the soil. During this process, some of the carbon returns to the soil as organic matters while the process of microbial decomposition releases carbon dioxide into the atmosphere.

The correct option would be (a).
