Answer:

Find the explanation below

Explanation:

The subject in a sentence is the object or person being talked about in the sentence. The verb is the action word that links the subject to the complement. The complement describes the subject in a sentence. Therefore, in the following sentences,

1) Management involves the manipulation of the human capital of an enterprise...

Management is the subject, involves and manipulation are the verbs, and the human capital of an enterprise is the complement.

2) Management operates through five basic functions: planning, organizing, coordinating, commanding, and controlling...

Management is the subject, operates is the verb, and the five basic functions are the complements.

3) Finance is a field related to accounting...

Finance is the subject, is is a verb, field related to accounting is the complement.

4) They are management students...

They is the subject, are is the verb, management students are the complement.

5) Students did the test yesterday

Students is the subject, did is the verb, yesterday is the complement.

When he did speak, it was in a monotone, his eyes fixed elsewhere. How does the word monotone affect the tone of this excerpt?
MrRa [10]
Monotone means having no expression in your voice, no anger, no happiness, no interest. This word would affect the tone by giving the reader the feeling that he just doesn't care about what is going on/ what he's talking about. I hope this helped!

Jem and Scout have different views about telling people at school how well Atticus can shoot. Explain this difference. Which vie
Reptile [31]

Answer:

Jem is dumbstruck with the accuracy of his father's shot. Miss Maudie tells the children that their father used to be known as "One-Shot Finch," the best dead-shot in the county. She says he doesn't shoot unless he has to, because he feels that when he holds a gun, God has given him an unfair advantage over living beings. Scout wants to tell everyone in school about the incident, but Jem tells her not to. Jem explains that he wouldn't care if Atticus "couldn't do a blessed thing," because Atticus is a gentleman.

Explanation:

After Atticus shoots and kills a rabid dog in one shot, both Jem and Scout are astonished at their father's marksmanship abilities and wonder why he never bragged about his talent. Miss Maudie explains to the children that Atticus is an extremely humble man with a civilized heart. Miss Maudie then tells Jem and Scout, "People in their right minds never take pride in their talents" (Lee, 102). Later that day, Scout mentions to Jem that she cannot wait to brag about her father's abilities at school, and Jem tells her to not say anything. Jem recognizes that his father is a gentleman and wishes to follow in his footsteps by behaving like a humble individual, which is why he encourages Scout to not brag about their father's talents. Personally, I would be able to control my pride and emotions by staying silent about my father's marksmanship abilities. Maycomb is a small town, and the word would rapidly spread about Atticus's expert marksmanship. I feel that it is always better to hear about someone's talent and abilities from a secondhand source than listen to a person brag about their own talents.
