Arachnids live anywhere they can find food. They live in grass fields and wet swamps. They live in hot, sandy deserts and cool, dark caves. They live in tropical rainforests and on rocky mountaintops. Arachnids like mites and ticks live in the fur of animals.

Arachnids often eat other invertebrates. Arachnids eat other arachnids, insects, small rodents, and even some small birds. Mites and ticks however feed off the blood and tissue of living animals, even humans. Other mites eat from liquified plants, fungus, and other organic materials.

Why does NADH and FADH2 donate their H+ to the electron transport chain readily?
galina1969 [7]

Answer:

b. Because they have a low affinity for the H+

Explanation:

All electrons that enter the transport chain come from NADH and FADH2 molecules that are produced in earlier phases of cellular respiration: glycolysis, pyruvate oxidation and the citric acid cycle.

NADH is very good at donating electrons in redox reactions (that is, its electrons are at a high energy level), so you can transfer your electrons directly to complex I and transform it back into NAD +. The movement of electrons through complex I in a series of redox reactions releases energy, which the complex uses to pump protons from the matrix into the intermembrane space.

FADH2 is not as good for donating electrons as NADH (that is, its electrons are at a lower energy level), so it cannot transfer its electrons to complex I. Instead, it introduces electrons to the transport chain through complex II, which does not pump protons through the membrane.

Schach [20]

The specific pattern of genes inherited at conception defines an individual's is genotype.

What is a genotype?

The genotype of an organism is the particular arrangement of alleles for a particular gene.

The term "genotype" refers to a person's entire gene pool. All visible traits for which genes contain the coding are collectively referred to as phenotypes.

There are three types of genotypes:

 • homozygous dominant
 • homozygous recessive
 • heterozygous.

So, The correct option is B.

Define adaptation as it relates to evolution
ivann1987 [24]

organisms that possess heritable traits that enable them to better adapt to their environment compared with other members of their species will be more likely to survive, reproduce, and pass more of their genes on to the next generation.

It is A, sunlight. The variable is the type of light used, and the control is used to measure the effects of the variables, so since sunlight is the normal light, it is the control.

How could a substance that stops the synthesis of mRNA cause the liver to stop functioning (the death of liver cells)?
ANTONII [103]
The liver cells will die causing the liver to stop functioning when protein gets damaged or destroyed. When protein gets damaged there will be no more new proteins that will be produced therefore, the absence of mRNA is equivalent to the non-production of proteins in cells.
