The customers at a local appliance store are polled as they leave the store. Each is asked, “What brand of appliance do you pref

er?” The random variable x to be reported is whether the appliance brand is Frigidaire. Is x a binomial variable? Justify your answer.

Well, it is a binomial variable as long as you limit the amount of people you ask to a certain number for every trial.
Also, you MUST record the data either as they choose Frigidaire or they didn't choose Frigidaire. It MUST be these two choices, or it isn't binomial.

Solve for x.<br> X^2-6x+10=2
MAVERICK [17]

Answer:

x = 2, 4

Step-by-step explanation:

Step 1: Write out quadratic

x² - 6x + 10 = 2

Step 2: Subtract 2 on both sides

x² - 6x + 8 = 0

Step 3: Factor

(x - 4)(x - 2) = 0

Step 4: Find roots

x - 4 = 0

x = 4

x - 2 = 0

x = 2

The triangles are similar.
MrMuchimi
25/5 = 5
and also
15/3 = 5
so
(3x+ 8)/5 = 4
3x + 8 = 20
3x = 12
  x = 12/3
  x = 4

answer is x = 4

A box is a rectangular prism with a square base. The volume is 972 cubic centimeters and the area of the square base is 81 squar
Dafna1 [17]
The volume is V=LxWxH.  The length x Width is just the area, A, of the bottom (also of the top)  So you could also write V=AxH, that is volume is
area x height.  Since we know V equals 972 and A equals 81 we can solve for H:
V=AxH
972=81H
972/81=H
H=12cm

What is the value of x in the figure shown below?
Hunter-Best [27]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

for missing angle of triangle ABC

let the missing angle be y

31+111+x=180(sum of interior angle of a triangle is 180 degree)

142+y=180

y=180-142

y=38 degree

x=y(being alternate angles)

x=38 degree

Find a vector equation and parametric equations for the line. (Use the parameter t.) The line through the point (0, 11, −8) and
NNADVOKAT [17]

Answer:

The vector equation of the line is \overrightarrow {r}=(11j-8k)+t(4i-4j+6k) and parametric equations for the line are x=4t, y=11-4t, z=-8+6t.

Step-by-step explanation:

It is given that the line passes through the point (0,11,-8) and parallel to the line

x=-1+4t

y=6-4t

z=3+6t

The parametric equation are defined as

x=x_1+at,y=y_1+bt,z=z_1+ct

Where, (x₁,y₁,z₁) is point from which line passes through and <a,b,c> is cosine of parallel vector.

From the given parametric equation it is clear that the line passes through the point (-1,6,3) and parallel vector is <4,-4,6>.

The required line is passes through the point (0,11,-8) and parallel vector is <4,-4,6>. So, the parametric equations for the line are

x=4t

y=11-4t

z=-8+6t

Vector equation of a line is

\overrightarrow {r}=\overrightarrow {r_0}+t\overrightarrow {v}

where, \overrightarrow {r_0} is a position vector and \overrightarrow {v} is cosine of parallel vector.

\overrightarrow {r}=(11j-8k)+t(4i-4j+6k)

Therefore the vector equation of the line is \overrightarrow {r}=(11j-8k)+t(4i-4j+6k) and parametric equations for the line are x=4t, y=11-4t, z=-8+6t.
