The right answer is D. Jada’s technique for the last two days of studying is overlearning.

EXPLANATION

Overlearning means that someone practices new skills with an enormous effort beyond the point of initial mastery. There was a memory researcher, Herman Ebbinghaus who did research on overlearning. He found out that memory for the learned material will decrease over time. Ebbinghaus noticed that the list of nonsense syllables that he used for his research became more difficult to recall over time.

People need to review again to gain one hundred percent recall. Ebbinghaus defined the term overlearning as still repeating a material after knowing that someone can already recall something with one hundred percent accuracy.

A meta-analysis in 1992 stated that overlearning can affect recall of materials over time. The effect of this can vary, because of the amount of overlearning, length of retention, and also the task type. The meta-analysis concluded this after conducting 15 studies.

The 15 studies in the meta-analysis tested overlearning effects on both cognitive and physical tasks. In the studies, both of the tasks show indication for overlearning. The result of these studies is that the amount of overlearning will affect retention. More overlearning of the tasks lead to more retention on both tasks. The length of the retention also affects overlearning. The effect of length of retention is different on both tasks.

Answer:

D) overlearning

Explanation:

When we need to learn a subject, whether to take an exam, a lecture or something else, we tend to use learning techniques that help us memorize all the important and necessary concepts. One learning technique that can be used and that is Jada's practice is "overlearning".

Overlearning is a learning technique that consists in the continuation of a tactic (reading, exercises, etc.) beyond the amount necessary to achieve a performance. In the case of Jada, even confident because she had studied enough for the exam, she decided to study further, that is, she performed a practice beyond what was necessary.
