All research projects involve ethical aspects (related to what is right and what is not correct) during the investigation. For example, if it is carried out with human beings, it must take into account that the participants (subjects of study) are adequately informed of what will be done with them, what is the subject of the research, in what they can benefit and how it can damage them, etc. Even if it is with animals, strict guidelines must be followed to avoid causing unnecessary harm. The moral, is a rather temporary aspect (the moral changes according to the time, what 200 years ago could be immoral, for example: manipulate a corps) today, is acceptable as long as again, guidelines are not transgressed anymore established to avoid investigations that neither contribute anything but also cause harm.

The precedent of these guidelines was set during the Second World War and the first half of the 20th century, where atrocious experiments were carried out in humans without benefit or against certain groups (experiments on Jews, twins carried out by Mengele) or vulnerable populations (the experiment on syphilis called "Tuskegee experiment" (1932-1972) conducted in imprisoned African-Americans, many of them illiterate.

They are correctly called "research studies," "clinical trials," "quasi-experimental studies," not "statistical studies," as you mention, Greetings!

Sistema social - Individuo externo - Interno

Based on your reading of Shenk's article, "Lincoln's Great Depression", please identify two of Lincoln's most successful adaptat
Rudiy27

The correct answer to this open question is the following.

Although you forgot to include the text/article, we can comment based on our knowledge about the topic.

In the article "Lincoln's Great Depression", the author refers to the idea that Abraham Lincoln suffered from severe depression. However, this condition always served Linco,n to make great efforts to overcome it.

To Shank, Abraham Lincoln passed three stages during his depression. A stage of fear, a stage of engagement, and a stage of transcendence. Melancholy characterized Lincoln's behavior during those stages.

The author says that Lincoln's depression was severe

So one of the strategies that helped him use his struggle with depression to accomplish worthy goals was his decision to take medical consultations in 1841. Lincoln spent many hours a day with a doctor named Anson Henry. Abraham Lincoln thought those sessions were necessary to properly behave himself and make good decisions

Another strategy was to have a clear mind and a sense of purpose for what they wanted to accomplish in life. That was one of the most important factors he used to overcome melancholy throughout his life.

He dedicated his life to improving his condition, he had self-discipline, accepted his situation, and from that point, he committed the things he needs to do to be a great politician. He focused on the practice of law as a way to escape his depression.

Joshua Wolf Shank wrote the article "Lincoln's Great Depression" for the "Atlantic," in October 2005.
