Answer:

y = -2x + 6

Step-by-step explanation:

Slope = (-4 - 8)/(5 + 1)

= -12/6

= -2

Equation

y - 8 = -2(x + 1)

y - 8 = -2x - 2

y = -2x + 6  <-----------slope-intercept form

A striped marlin can swim at a rate of 70 miles per hour is this a faster or slower than a sailfish which takes 30 minutes to sw
Temka [501]
It’d be slower cause a sailfish can go more in less time which mean and hour would= 80 and so on if you keep going and every thirty minutes they can swim 40 while a marlin takes a rate of 70 miles per hour.

What is the equation of the line, in slope-intercept form, that passes through (3, -1) and (-1, 5)? y = -3/2x+7/2 2y = -3x + 7 2
SOVA2 [1]

Answer:

The equation of the line would be y = -3/2x + 7/2

Step-by-step explanation:

In order to find this, we must first use the slope formula with the two point to find the slope.

m(slope) = (y2 - y1)/(x2 - x1)

m = (5 - -1)/(-1 - 3)

m = 6/-4

m = -3/2

Now that we have the slope, we can use that and either point in point-slope form. Then we solve for y.

y - y1 = m(x - x1)

y + 1 = -3/2(x - 3)

y + 1 = -3/2x + 9/2

y = -3/2x + 7/2

Can the formula F=ma be a direct variation equation? If so, which variable would have to be held constant?
ANEK [815]
Yes it can be a direct variation.  it follows the form y = kx
The only variable that cannot be held constant is F, but we can hold the mass constant and vary the acceleration OR we can hold the acceleration constant and vary the mass.  Either one would work, but the easiest would be to vary the mass and hold the acceleration constant since we are all pulled by the same action gravity
