Diffusion is important to the cell because it is the process by which useful molecules enter the cell and waste products removed from the cell.
Without diffusion, cells and tissues of the body can not get important nutrients and gases for survival and would die.
An example is the eye. The eyes lack a great number of blood vessels (which carry oxygen that diffuses into cells) and must have an extra supply of oxygen. The atmosphere provides the extra needed oxygen which is taken up into the cells of the eye by diffusing through the cornea and thus the eye is kept functioning. If this does not happen , the eye would dry out.

Answer:
A. acquired traits can be passed to offspring.
Explanation:
Mendel tracked the segregation of parental genes and their appearance in the offspring as dominant or recessive traits.
Answer:
Diffusion- Passive transport
energy required- Active transport
exocytosis- Active transport
osmosis- Passive transport
endocytosis- Active transport
energy not required- Passive transport
facilitated diffusion- Passive transport
Protein pumps- Active transport
Explanation:
Passive transport can be described as the transport of particles along the concentration gradient i.e from an area of higher concentration to an area of lower concentration. This process does not require energy. For example, the phenomenon of osmosis
Active transport can be described as the transport of particles against the concentration gradient i.e from an area of lower concentration to an area of higher concentration. This process requires energy. For example, exocytosis
