That is a obtuse angle
If u see by pythagorean theorm
6^2+4×55=16
But here hypotenuse is 17 greater than 16.
<span>Compare the hypotenuse to the longest side given in the problem. If the longest given side is shorter than the hypotenuse, the given triangle is acute. If it is longer than the hypotenuse, the given triangle is obtuse.</span>

I am pretty sure it would form a acute angle!

Y varies directly with x. If x=6 when y=30, determine y when x=8.
kondaur [170]

Answer:

Y=40

Explanation:

Due to the nature of both X and Y varying directly, you can view the problem as a proportion. If x=6 and y=30, that must mean that when x=8  y must equal 40.

6:30 = 8:40

or

30/6= 5

Y/8= 5

Because they vary directly they are equivalent, and so multiply 8 by 5 and get 40.

A) For ΔJKL use the Triangle Proportionality Theorem to solve for x.
scoray [572]

Answer:

Part a) The value of x is 10

Part b) The perimeter of triangle JKL is 79\ units

Step-by-step explanation:

Part a) Find the value of x

we know that

The <u>Triangle Proportionality Theorem,</u> states that if a line parallel to one side of a triangle intersects the other two sides of the triangle, then the line divides these two sides proportionally

\frac{3x-5}{3x-5+10}=\frac{28-8}{28}\\ \\\frac{3x-5}{3x+5}=\frac{20}{28} \\ \\(3x-5)(28)=(3x+5)(20) \\ \\84x-140=60x+100\\ \\84x-60x=140+100\\ \\24x=240\\ \\x=10

Part b) we know that

The perimeter of triangle JKL is equal to

P=JK+KL+JL

substitute the values

P=(3x+5)+28+16=3x+49

substitute the value of x

P=3(10)+49=79\ units

Answer: The measure of the major arc is 68 degrees plus the measure of the small arc.

In the problem given, we don't know all the needed measurements (is there a diagram?). Therefore, we can find an expression for the answer, not the value itself.

The angles are related with the following expression.

Outside Angle = 0.5(Major Arc - Minor Arc)

Solving for the major arc gives us.

34 = 0.5(y - x)
68 = y - x
68 + x = y
