The correct answer is C. A single social class

Explanation:

The novel of manners refers to a type of novel that focuses on the customs, behaviors, beliefs, and values of a specific social class or group and within a specific historical context. For example, a novel of manners can focus on the low social class during the 18th century in France. Because of this, it is common in the novel of manners most of the characters belong to the social group being described and the conflict of the story explores the features or issues of the social class or whether the characters fit on them. Considering this, it can be concluded the novel of manners dealt primarily with a single social class.

<u>To read a text critically means to engage in an active way of reading</u>, that is, to read in a deeper way. Reading critically is more than just getting what the text is about.<u> It is about analyzing and evaluating the information that is being presented in order not to become a 'passive reader'</u>, a reader that takes the information that receives without questioning it.<u> Critical reading is important for the reader to build his/her own viewpoint about a specific topic</u>.

PSYCHOLOGY HELP
astraxan [27]

This is a case of "negative reinforcement". The term was created by B.F. Skinner, and it is about not doing something in order to avoid suffering or pain (physical or psychological). A good example of negative reinforcement can be seen in the movie "A Clockwork Orange", directed by Stanley Kubrick. The main character goes to a correctional facility where he's forced to watch violent movies while experiencing an unimaginable sensation of nausea. The goal of the institution was to turn him into a non-violent individual by conditioning his brain to associate violence with feeling sick to his stomach. In fact, after such experiment he wasn't even able to enjoy Beethoven's music anymore, since it was played throughout the whole "therapeutic" movie sessions. In Herbie's case, he could no longer eat his daily chocolate chip cookies, since he didn't want to get nauseated again. It doesn't mean he would necessarily feel that way if he actually had the cookies, but he refused to eat them anyway, since he'd already been negatively reinforced not to eat them.
