Given:
Larger Triangle : base = 58 m ; height = x
Smaller Triangle: base = 26 m; height = 21.3 m

x:58 = 21.3:26
26x = 58*21.3
26x = 1,235.4
x = 1,235.4 / 26
x = 47.515

The river is 48 meters wide.

Find the volume of the lunch box shown here.
Papessa [141]
Check the picture below.

so the lunchbox is really a semi-circle with a radius of 3, sitting on top of a square of 6x6, with a lenght of 10.

the volume of the lunchbox then will be the area of the semi-circle and square times the length.

\bf \left[ \stackrel{\textit{semi-circle's area}}{\frac{\pi 3^2}{2}}+\stackrel{\textit{square's area}}{(6\cdot 6)} \right]\stackrel{length}{10}\implies \left(  \frac{9\pi }{2}+36\right)(10)

In circle O below AB is a diameter and m
Brilliant_brown [7]
The measure of arc AC is 40°
Step-by-step explanation:
In any circle the measure of an inscribed angle is one-half the measure of its subtended arc
In circle O
∵ ∠BAC is an inscribed angle subtended by arc BC
∴ m∠BAC = m arc BC
∵ m∠BAC = 70°
- Substitute it in the the expression above
∴ 70 = m arc BC
- Multiply both sides by 2
∴ 140 = m arc BC
∴ The measure of arc BC is 140°
∵ AB is a diameter
- The diameter divides the circle into two equal arcs
∴ m of arc ACB = measure of the circle
- The measure of the circle is 360°
∴ m of arc ACB = (360°)
∴ m of arc ACB = 180°
∵ m arc BC + m arc AC = m arc ACB
∴ 140° + m arc AC = 180°
- Subtract 140 from both sides
∴ m arc AC = 40°
The measure of arc AC is 40°

Which expression Is equivalent to x2-17x-60<br><br> Need work attached.
mamaluj [8]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Find the roots of x² - 17x - 60

Quadratic formula

x = [17 ± √(17² – 4·1(-60))] / [2·1]

 = [17 ± √529] / 2

 = [17 ± 23] /2

 = -3, 20

x² - 17x - 60 = (x+3)(x-20)
