NO unless you know the value of m you are able to subtract a variable form a constant unless the constant is attached to the same variable. For example you can sub tract 7m-m and that would equal 6m but you can not subtract 7b-m because the variables are different. If you tink about it this way 7 can have the variable A attached to it to make it 7a and the variable m can be thought of as 1m. Therefor you can not have 7a-1m because the variables are different.
if this is in an inequality problem no because you can only combine like terms such as combining m and m and no variable numbers together you cannot subtract a variable from a number unless you have what the variable is equal to. correct me if im wrong
