Answer:Public opinion is very important in government. Because the people are the ones being served by the government, their opinions need to be heard so that the majority can be addressed politically in the best way. If the public’s opinion is not upheld, the government would not be functioning appropriately. The government’s purpose is to serve the people, or the people have the right to overthrow it.
